          Karmachari Sangathana was formed to solve problems of ONGC Bombay Offshore Project workers on 22nd September 1986. At that time there was only one monopoly union that was looking after its own interest and was operating in a manner that could be termed anti-labour. With support and of you all and 13 years of continues service to employees and fight for right Karmachari Sangathana got recognition through the first secret ballet. The secret ballet was ordered by court in response to our petition for the same

          In the tenure of first recognition Karmachari Sangathana honestly tried to compensate employees for losses of previous unjust agreements by successfully accomplishing historical pay revision pact. In this period we succeeded regularizing 30 Direct employees and 130 contractual employees form hazira project. For the first time we achieved 10-year pact for pay revision of contract employees the benefits of which are still enjoyed by them.

          We are the only recognised union in  Mumbai region. We have won the secret ballot election in December 08 by 64% more votes. 1141 votes for Karmachari Sanghathana out of 1839 votes.
